Department of Food and Resource Economics, Section for Consumption, Bioethics and Governance, wishes to appoint a post doc in sociology in the area of food and agriculture.
The post doc’s duties will primarily consist of research with regard to the views of the public, experts and other actors concerning the use of modern biotechnology. The research will address this topic within a large EU-project about the use of synthetic biology to develop vaccines to be used in farm animal production. The position may include research-based teaching activities that may include supervision of bachelor / master projects as well as teaching and planning of courses within the sociology of food and/ or the sociology of agriculture. The position is open from December 2015 and is time-limited for three years.
Eligibility/Requirements
The appointee must have qualifications within the following areas: qualitative methods including interviews studies; practical experience in conducting qualitative interviews (individual and/ or focus group interviews); analysing qualitative data. The appointee should also have qualifications within some of the following areas: sociological theories; sociology of food and agriculture; experience from interdisciplinary research combining social and natural sciences; qualitative methods.
