The Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen (DIKU) offers a fully-funded two-year postdoc position. The qualified candidate will work within machine learning and other data analysis techniques applied to medical data. The position is part of the collaborative project SCAUT http://www.scaut.dk/ dealing with automated detection and prediction in chronic care. The postdoc will be expected to perform statistical analysis of data from patients suffering from chronic heart diseases, in particular of data generated by advanced pacemakers (ICD), and to devise methods for automatic detection and prediction of symptoms as well as for treatment optimization. The postdoc will be based at DIKU’s machine learning lab http://image.diku.dk/MLLab.
Candidates must already possess (or soon obtain) a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics. A strong background in statistical data analysis is required. This must be documented by at least one first-author publication in a top tier venue (such as NIPS, ICML, AISTATS). Documented knowledge in scientific programming (C++, Python, and/or R) is required. Knowledge in medical data analysis is a plus.
The position can start as early as 1 November 2015, but the exact starting date is negotiable.
