Background
Within the context of the Rehabilitation Research Center (REVAL) of the Faculty of Medicine & Life Sciences of Hasselt University a doctoral vacancy in Neuroplasticity to investigate age-related neurodegenerative changes in the brain is opened. This project will expand our understanding of age-related neurodegenerative changes in the brain and their impact upon functioning.
Task description
The PhD project involves neurophysiological studies in the domain of neuroscience. It is part of an interdisciplinary group of researchers investigating underlying mechanisms of neuroplasticity and movement control.
The present project will go beyond the basic descriptions of age related changes in activation and observed structural declines by unraveling its deeper mechanisms during tasks requiring cognitive control of action. Hasselt University is looking for students who are motivated, interested in the topic, and have earned high grades in their masters.

Diploma
Master degree in Rehabilitation Sciences, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Psychology and Educational Science (or equivalent).
Employment
Scholarship for a period of 2 x 2 years (with evaluation after 2 years).
