An internship in one of Group IT’s largest organization supporting the Communications Manager (for AE&O – Architecture, Engineering & Operations, within Pharma IT) at our sites in Basel and Kaiseraugst, Switzerland offers you a unique opportunity to learn more about the importance of consistent and clear communication in the context of an internal IT infrastructure provider.
You will help us translate how the work we do brings value to our customers within IT (our IT Partners) and IT end users and link it to their “big picture”. You will also play an important role to execute and further improve our department internal communication: The challenge at hand is to create and sustain alignment across a diverse group of ~750 diverse IT specialists who are spread across three major sites (Basel/Kaiseraugst, Madrid and San Francisco) and several smaller sites across the globe.
You will be working for our IT Communications Manager and share your passion for a message well communicated. You will experience how it is to keep our colleagues and IT Partners informed by our teams’ progress.
During your internship with us you will combine and further enhance your knowledge in communication, operational and strategic thinking and your ability to coordinate complex tasks. You will further build and practice your organizational understanding across a large internal IT organization with more than 3’000 employees globally.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Support the IT Communications Manager in driving the communications in AE&O, including supporting the preparations of our upcoming events, the 2016 communications plan for AE&O and creating short videos to strengthen our messages
- Drive the social media activities, including our regular updates on our Roche internal social media platform (based on Google+), a campaign reinforcing the value and play rules of our Google+ presence, and analysing the members on our social media platform so we better understand our demographics
- Identify new trends in internal communications and employee engagement to keep the interest high in our organization

You have the following qualifications:
- You are currently studying a Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public relations or related degree
- You have excellent IT and language skills; oral and written communication skills in English (German and/or Spanish is a plus) preferably from a multicultural experience or background
- You have some experience in social media and multimedia (graphic design and movie making)
- You have proactive open minded attitude, bring your energy into flexible planning and work well under stress
The preferred start date of the internship is February 2016 or upon availability. Please clearly indicate your preferred starting date and duration (9-12 months) in your motivation letter.
