Your Responsibilities

  • Providing dietary exposure expertise, guidance and assessments to support the work of EFSA’s units, Panels, Working Groups and the Scientific Committee as well as for the preparation of scientific opinions and statements;
  • Contributing, in close collaboration with a network of Member State data providers, to the collection, collation, validation, analysis and estimation of dietary exposure data at European level related to a range of food-borne hazards such as contaminants, food additives, pesticide residues, enzymes, as well as nutrients;
  • Preparing scientific reports and contributing to the development of guidance documents relating to dietary exposure assessments in the area of food-borne hazards.

Your Skills

Qualifications

  • A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three (3) years attested by a diploma in one of the following fields: informatics, statistics, biology, mathematics, bioscience, food technology, nutrition or related areas.

Experience

  • At least one (1) year of relevant and proven professional experience gained after obtaining the diploma.

Experience and knowledge

  1. Experience in data collection, data validation, data management and data analysis in an area relevant to EFSA’s remit or similar preferably within a multicultural environment;
  2. Basic experience in the use of statistical software and code development in R or in SAS;
  3. Experience in the use of MS Excel;
  4. Experience in the application of dietary exposure assessment methodologies;
  5. Experience in drafting scientific documents;
  6. Knowledge (by training or experience) of any of the following subjects is considered an asset:
    1. Epidemiological and statistical analyses;
    2. Dietary survey;
    3. Nutrition;
    4. Food composition and categorization;
    5. Risk assessment methodologies preferably in the area of food safety.
