FIXED-TERM CONTRACT
Job mission
Under the general authority of the Registrar of the Court and of the Head of the Language Department of the Registry, the incumbent produces translations and carries out a language check of various documents related to the Court’s activities, in compliance with the assigned deadlines and performance standards. Translations are normally revised.

Key Activities
The incumbent performs the following key duties:
- translates, from English into French, various types of text drafted mainly by Judges of the Court and members of its Registry;
- translates, where required, other documents from non-official languages;
- revises legal texts written in French by non-native speakers;
- provides appropriate linguistic and terminological advice, where required;
- contributes to terminological databases and to the development of glossaries;
- performs terminological and background documentary research necessary for the accurate understanding and rendering of texts to be translated;
- keeps all assignment-related information strictly confidential.
