Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context:
Under the direct supervision of the Policy and Communication Outreach Coordinator (PCO-C), the successful candidate will provide support to the Policy & programme Support Division on functions related to data management, analysis and dissemination. In particular, s/he will undertake the following tasks:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Keep track of various set of data, statistics as well as analytical reports produced both internally and externally;
- Generate a variety of standard and non-standard statistical data analysis, charts and other reports for both internal and external consumption;
- Support PPSD staff, in the collection of specific project/thematic data from IOM missions in the EEA.
- Assist with the analysis and presentation of data to enhance reporting, briefings and presentations;
- Assist with development, management and updates to other PPSD informational spreadsheets/matrices;
- Set up and operationalize a contact list and distribution database for the PPSD;
- Assist the PPSU communications and knowledge management focal point in tasks related to knowledge and information management;
- Perform any other tasks as may be required by the supervisor.
Education
University degree in Economics, IT, Business Administration
Experience
- First experience or internship in IT related field including database development and management and use of statistical applications
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Windows applications
- Familiarity with website content management and applications is an asset
Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of French and any other European language an advantage.

Other
- The intern will work for the IOM liaison office to the EU. The intern will not only become acquainted with the policies of IOM as an international organization, its multicultural environment and its functioning, but also learn more about the current EU policy discourse on humanitarian aid and migration. The intern will assist on subject area of Communication and Policy
- Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment and verification of residency, visa and authorizations by the concerned Government, where applicable.
