Translator / Interpreter – EU Delegation in Moscow

The EU Delegation in Moscow, diplomatic representation of the European Union in the Russian Federation, Offers:

We offer a post of Translator / Interpreter. Under this post, the recruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the Delegation. Upon recruitment, the successful candidate will occupy a specific job function as Translator / Interpreter – this job function may be changed in accordance with the needs of the Delegation. Under this job function the successful candidate will serve as technical and support staff under the supervision and responsibility of the relevant Head of Section:

• To translate documents, notes, letters, articles etc. at the request of the Head of Delegation and the Head of Sections from English into Russian or from Russian into English

• To interpret from English into Russian or from Russian into English

• Accompany Delegation officials to meetings in order to provide interpretation

• Assist in the organisation and interpretation of high-level meetings, missions, special events, seminars, press conferences, etc.

• General support to the Administrative Section incl. contacts with Russian authorities and preparation / translation of “note verbales” in English and Russian on different subjects

• Document management

• Proofreading and correction of translated texts

• Procurement* of translation and interpretation services when required

*Procurement involves the following actions:

– Identification of suppliers of translation and interpretation services for the tender

– Managing the contract with the suppliers and making sure that the services are provided as declared

– Proofreading and request for correction of the translated documents by the supplier

Job location: Moscow

Working hours: 09:00 – 17:30 (working hours can be flexible within limitations)
