Emergency Programme Coordinator – CAFOD




Salary: Starting Salary Kshs 4,715,211 gross per annum + Benefits

Based: Nairobi, Kenya

Contract: 12 Months Contract

Job profile

To coordinate, plan and monitor CAFOD’s regional East Africa Crisis response. You will work in close collaboration with CAFOD offices and partners to ensure appropriate, effective and high-quality programme implementation in line with agreed humanitarian and country strategies in South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia.

Job role

Based in Nairobi, you will be responsible for overseeing regional humanitarian work related to the East Africa Crisis. Oversight of the programme will involve technical programming, financial and funding management, including monitoring a regional budget, external representation, ensuring internal and external compliance, monitoring shifts against key indicators and providing technical support to key humanitarian staff within the region. You will work closely with the Country Representatives and Programme Managers in each of the countries, undertaking frequent travel as needed (approximately 16 weeks per year).

Your profile

You have proven experience of delivering humanitarian programmes in at least 2 of the focus countries (including adherence to quality standards such as Sphere and CHS). With strong financial skills, you have previously managed Institutional-donor funded, multi-million-pound humanitarian response. You are excellent at building strong relationships and have a commitment to working in partnership. Fluent in English, knowledge of Swahili or Amharic is desirable.
