The European Patent Office in The Hague is seeking an Information Technology Expert
The Information Management (IM) department of the European Patent Office (EPO) has 800 staff working on IT and information processing, with a professional and proactive focus on supporting the EPO’s different business processes.
The EPO is embarking on a programme of change which will involve the rebuild of many of its core patent granting systems. This change will be achieved by re-engineering the core end-to-end patent granting processes, and supporting them by means of a Case Management System (CMS). This new platform will replace the existing hardware/software infrastructure which makes heavy use of a traditional DBMS and 3GL programming language.
The Patent Process directorate is responsible for delivering and maintaining the information systems which support the core tasks of the examining directors, the patent examiners, and the formalities officers who assist them in processing patent applications from filing through to publication. The directorate now wishes to recruit an
Information Technology Expert
to support the functional liaison between business needs and their technical implementation.
Deadline for applications: 25.11.2013
