The Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) is looking for a high‐potential and dynamic professional, with a background in research to join its Economic Policy Unit in Brussels in the role of Researcher or Research Fellow, depending on his or her profile and experience.
Summary of job functions
o To conduct original and substantive policy‐oriented research in the field of labour market and education
economics, complying with the highest academic standards, following the relevant CEPS guidelines.
o To communicate research outputs clearly and effectively in a variety of formats, both written (research papers,
commentaries, policy briefs) and orally (presentations before a wide variety of audiences).
o To actively contribute to the development of the Unit, exhibiting a high degree of entrepreneurship and drive:
– Monitoring developments in labour markets, education and public policy, in his or her field.
– Proposing timely and relevant research projects, ability to capture the interest of stakeholders (policy‐
makers, industry and society at large).
– Engaging in fund‐raising activities, coordinating for this purpose with the rest of the unit.
o To participate in research projects for third‐party contractors (notably the European Institutions), monitoring
tender opportunities, helping to write tender proposals and executing awarded tenders.
o To help to devise and implement an ambitious programme of seminars and conferences, proposing relevant
topics and speakers, while ensuring the successful delivery of high‐quality events, with attention to detail.
