The European Secretariat of ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability seeks to fill the position of Coordinator Climate Change Adaptation & Ecosystem Resilience

ICLEI’s member cities drive innovation by pioneering the development and application of new processes, instruments, methods and tools for local sustainability. ICLEI promotes integrated and cyclical management and governance of all sustainability related policy areas.
The Coordinator Climate Change Adaptation & Ecosystem Resilience supports local governments throughout Europe in implementing innovative governance approaches and integrated management in a variety of urban themes, with a special focus on climate change adaptation and ecosystem resilience. He/she will do this both in the framework of larger projects and consultancy services offered by ICLEI.
The Coordinator will be responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing projects
and services in the topical areas of natural resource management, climate change adaptation and ecosystem resilience in cooperation with the responsible line-manager/Deputy Regional Director. The position will also include further tasks, especially associated to project and service acquisition, supervised by and in close cooperation with the line-manager/DRD. The project coordinator should proactively support the strategic and programmatic development, the representative capacity and power towards European institutions and national governmental structures and institutions and thereby increase visibility and (economic) opportunities in the before-mentioned topical areas.
