The UNOY Peacebuilders is a youth-led network of youth organisations working towards peaceful societies. UNOY embraces and cherishes values of peace, diversity, inclusion and participation.

At UNOY, young people have the opportunity to gain work experience in the field of peacebuilding, join an enthusiastic international team, learn new skills and connect with youth and organisations around the world.

UNOY is governed by a youth-led Board, and the member organisations can exercise influence over the network through the International Steering Group. The management of the network is done on the basis of shared leadership between the leading coordinators: Capacity Development Programme and Communications Coordinator and Advocacy Programme and Network Coordinator.

Purpose of the position

  • Implement and monitor, jointly with the other leading coordinator, the UNOY Peacebuilders 2011 – 2015 strategic framework and start the process of drafting 2016 – 2020 Strategic Framework.
  • Write proposals and secure funding for the implementation of the UNOY Peacebuilders strategic framework.
  • Realize the effective development, implementation and evaluation of UNOY Peacebuilders’ capacity development programme.
  • Oversea outreach activities of UNOY Peacebuilders through social media and other platforms.
  • Administer Customer Relation Management and Project Management software internally.

Deadline for written submissions is 17:00 on 11 May 2014. 

Interviews will be held the week of 12 May (first round) and the week of 19 May (second round).

United Network of Young Peacebuilders is a non-profit youth-led network of 60 member organisations based mainly in South America, Africa, and Asia. UNOY helps to promote the participation of young people in peacebuilding around the world.

UNOY is registered in The Netherlands and the International Secretariat is located in the international capital of peace and justice: The Hague. The secretariat is run by an international team of four paid staff and six interns.
