General information
Inequality has become one of the biggest social, economic and political challenges of our time. Yet, policymakers remain reluctant to confront it head on. CEPS therefore decided to make it the topic of their 5th InGRID winter school, to create a bridge between the state-of-the-art literature and political perceptions of this issue.
This winter school will bring together scholars, experts as well as policy makers and practitioners to analyse the most pressing issues within the concept of inequality in a cross-country comparative way as well as through country case studies.
Over 2½ days they will look at inequality from different angles and in relation to specific topics, such as:
a) intergenerational justice and welfare state,
b) education
c) corruption and politics
d) finance.
Participants will also look at relationship between social and spatial mobility, with a focus on Roma.
The final half day will provide the opportunity for researchers to present their work to allow on-the-spot discussions and networking.
Who is eligible to apply?
Participation to the School is free of charge, and participants may be eligible for reimbursement of travel and subsistence costs.
The winter school is aimed at policy makers and practitioners, PhD students and early-stage researchers.
