The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation is looking for a Project Officer for Young Women’s Peace Academy to the Field Office in Jerusalem.
The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation supports women during times of war and conflict to increase women’s power and influence. Today they cooperate with more than 130 women’s organisations in the Western Balkans, the South Caucasus, the Middle East and two countries in Africa. They started out at the beginning of the 1990’s in the Balkans as a direct result of the atrocities of the war with a focus on women, peace and security. They collaborate with women’s organizations that play an active part in peace and transition processes as well as promoting women’s rights and gender equality.
Kvinna till Kvinna established an office in Jerusalem in 2001. The foundation provides financial support and capacity development to local women’s rights organizations based on strong local ownership, long-term core support, networking and organizational development.
The Project Officer (PO) will be part of the field team for Israel and Palestine, and the project team for the project “Young Women’s Peace Academy”, funded by the Swedish Postcode Lottery. During the 18 months project period it is planned to have one Project Manager in Stockholm and three full-time Project Officers based in Jerusalem, Sarajevo and Tbilisi to implement the project.
Tasks of the Project Officers
The PO is responsible to ensure that the activities under the project are carried out and developed according to working methods, strategies, policies, and goals of Kvinna till Kvinna. The PO works according to the annual work plan and the project documents for the “Young Women’s Peace Academy”. The PO is managed by the appointed Field Representative (FR) in her daily work. The PO will be in regular communication with the project team around the coordination of the project. The PO will participate in regional meetings and may be invited to other workshops or meetings at the head office in Stockholm or elsewhere if deemed necessary. The PO shall bring in perspective from her knowledge of the country/regional context.
