User Support Specialist – OSF

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with audio and visual conferencing, and knowledge and experience of desktop conferencing; troubleshooting, building, documentation, and computer fixing a plus. In addition, candidate should have experience with wired and wireless microphones. Candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed.

The purpose of the position is to provide event equipment and general technical support services to Open Society staff. Work is carried out under general supervision.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Open Society may add, change, or remove essential and other duties at any time:

  • Assist with video/audio conferences and maintain upkeep of VC equipment;
  • Respond and assist with internal “trouble tickets” submitted within the organization;
  • Assist with fixed assets, hardware, and software inventory management;
  • Provide technical support for offices in New York, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., London, and Budapest as needed;
  • Assist with PC/laptop and network printers setup, software installation, PC network configuration;
  • Assist in hardware and software troubleshooting;
  • Assist with software development troubleshooting, support, and training;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;
  • Willingness to travel.
