Traineeships with Deutsche Welle (DW)
For you, journalism is more than a profession. It’s a passion. You’re curious and open-minded, independent and full of ideas. You’ve gathered initial journalism experience and have an undergraduate degree or equivalent professional training. Your goal is to take part in a rigorous traineeship with a leading international broadcaster.
If you’re interested in DW, they’d like to know more about you if you’re also
• a native speaker of English who has acquired a basic working knowledge of German – i.e. through intensive German language courses – prior to the start of the traineeship.
• a native speaker of German who is fluent in English (i.e. for live reporting)
• a native speaker of another language that is part of DW’s language services – especially Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, French, Russian or Spanish. You also need a good working knowledge of English and German.
Should you not meet our language requirements, particularly for German, please contact us.
Language is key here. Along with English and German, all applicants have a good working knowledge of at least one additional DW language. The next international traineeship gets underway May 1, 2015. Online applications are currently being accepted. The deadline is October 31, 2014.
