An invitation from the Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament to take part in the “School of Democracy.”
On 23 and 24 April 2015, the Group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament will organise a “School of Democracy”, during which 100 young people from countries both inside and outside the European Union, along with experts and representatives of the political, economic and academic spheres, will be able to meet and discuss the situation of democracy, multiculturalism and social justice in the face of the threat of populism, extremism and globalisation. This initiative will take place in close cooperation with the Alcide Cervi Institute, named after a hero of the Italian resistance movement. In Italy, this Institute contributes to preserving the values of resistance and democracy.
This “School of Democracy” will take place at Reggio Emilia, in Emilia Romagna in Italy, and S&D are pleased to invite young people who are interested to participate. Travel, hotel and meal expenses will be paid. There will be interpretation in the main languages of the EU, but a good knowledge of English would be an advantage.
If you are aged between 18 and 25 and wish to participate in this event, you are invited to fill in the application form.
Registration is now open. You are advised to register as soon as possible, as for practical reasons the organizers can only take into consideration the first thousand applications. The hundred candidates selected will be contacted by mid-February 2015 at the latest.
