The Delegation of the European Union to Myanmar is inviting candidates to submit applications for the following post of:
ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
OVERALL PURPOSE
Accounting and general administration
JOB CONTENT
• Assist the Head of Administration in management and financial management;
• Assist in the preparation of budget estimation and budget revision and supervision of the implemention of the approved budget and specific budget lines;
• Encoding in accounting software (ABAC);
• Engage in the preparation of the payments and handle the petty cash;
• Management of databases for contracts and inventory;
• Assist the Head of Administration with infrastructure activities concerned with office and accommodations of international staff;
• Assist in administration matters: payroll, insurance, provident funds, severance grant, etc for local agents;
• Other activities in the interest of the service as assigned by the Head of Delegation or Head of Administration;
EDUCATION
• Minimum higher secondary school, the ideal candidate would have a qualification in Accounting or Business Administration
EXPERIENCE
• Preferably at least five years of work experience in a similar position;
• Previous experience in an international organization or a diplomatic mission would be an asset.
KNOWLEDGE
• Thorough knowledge of accounting and administrative tasks;
• High level of computer literacy (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet).
SKILLS
Excellent command of English and Myanmar, both written and spoken;
Working knowledge of an additional EU language would be an asset;
Capacity to work in a multicultural team, showing good interpersonal skills Good communication skills with both internal and external contacts;
Sense of autonomy, organization and initiative;
Ability to prioritise and carry out tasks and draft flawless, concise and clear documents, even when working under pressure or within tight deadlines, and to respond quickly to new demands;
High degree of confidentiality, discretion, loyalty and responsibility in dealing with EU-related information.
