Fundraising Assistant – Data Analysis and Donor Loyalty
GS-5 level, Fixed-term contract
Purpose:
Under supervision of the Fundraising Officer – Corporate, the Fundraising Assistant – Data Analysis and Donor Loyalty is responsible for the coordination of data entry activities, the design of a wide range of necessary statistical reports to monitor results, providing feedback on data, managing and segmenting various lists and identifying trends which need to be addressed.
Qualifications and competencies required:
- University degree from a technical university, or related field complemented by completion of relevant training, technical courses, specialization, etc.;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in database management;
- Excellent computer skills: advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Access, various database formats and the managing of conversions from one format to another (knowledge of FoxPro and XML is an advantage);
- Experience in web content management and e-marketing (knowledge of HTML and CMS programs is an advantage);
- Programming skills preferred; adept at queries and report writing;
- Advanced analytical skills and high attention to detail;
- Experience in the non-profit sector is an advantage;
- Fluency in English and the local working language of the duty station.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Performs data collection and entry, maintaining donor’s house list and supportive databases, ensuring consistency and quality by supervision of Donor Perfect Database – maintains data entry, updates, coding, imports, exports, segmentations, and prepares mailing and e-mail lists.
2. Generates a set of regular detailed reports regarding fundraising activities and results. Assists in preparation of the mandatory PFP reports (COGNOS and others). Provides pre-campaign preparation and final campaign reports – telemarketing, direct mailing, monthly newsletter and SMS campaign reports.
3. Analyses received data, providing feedback on positive and negative trends. Follows and analyses trends and KPI’s established by UNICEF such as SBRM, attrition and conversion rates, donor upgrade and reactivation, donor acquisition and lapse, and provides feedback to the fundraising team. Provides detailed conclusions concerning conducted campaigns and provides recommendations for future activities to Fundraising Officers.
4. Provides orientation, guidance and oversight to temporary support staff and volunteers dealing with donor data & donor relations and training of other Donor Perfect users on data entry, changes to data, and using reports which are designed specifically for their area of concern.
5. Provides donor acquisition and retention administrative support. Assists in development and implementation of pledge communication cycle activities. Assists when adopting and implementing new payment channels. Assists in planning, logistics, and administrative arrangements for direct mail activities, pledge programme and donor relations tasks. Assists in the development of a FR microsite.
