The delegation of the European Commission to the State of Eritrea is looking for suitable candidates for the following position:
Job title:
Receptionist/Switchboard operator (Group IV) in the Administrative Section of the Delegation
Tasks:
– Operating the main switchboard and routing incoming telephone calls.
– Give general information to callers, take messages or transfer call to appropriate individuals.
– Greeting and directing guests.
– Registering incoming mail and dispatching outgoing mail.
– Prepare/copy documents for transmission.
– Supervision of archive work within the section.
– Provide logistic support for the organization of meetings.
– Managing the schedule of the drivers of the Delegation.
– Manage missions (reservations) and travel permits.
– Assisting the Head of Administration in administrative tasks when required.
Profile:
– The candidate must possess a certificate of completion of Secondary school. Post-secondary education will be considered an asset.
– Experience as a Receptionist/Switchboard Operator. Additional secretarial experience or experience in office administration will be taken into account.
– Excellent English: reading, writing, and speaking. Knowledge of French and other official languages of the European Union Member States will be considered an asset.
– Excellent Tigrinya: reading, writing, and speaking. Knowledge of other Eritrean languages will be considered an asset.
– Proven extensive user experience with MS Office package or similar as well as with internet based services.
– Interest in current affairs and basic knowledge of the European Union and its institutions are required
– The flexibility to adapt to various administrative tasks
Duration:
Indefinite contract.
Remuneration:
According to the salary scales of the European Union and relevant experience.
