8 exciting International conferences are coming up this summer: Your help is needed!
The 2015 conferences run from June 26 to August 15. During this time, the CAUX-Initiatives of Change Foundation is offering 4 internships in the Communications Department.
The International Caux Conferences offer a unique multilingual and cross-cultural experience. Working in a dynamic team, you will get hands-on experience in terms of international communications. During the period of the traineeship, the selected candidates will be living in the conference centre: the former Caux-Palace. They cannot offer any remuneration, but the costs for board and lodging are fully covered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and/or translate media releases and news stories for the website and public media in English or/and (depending on the abilities) French and German;
- Report on the Conferences: write articles, take photographs, film and conference documents;
- Manage social media pages and profiles (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, etc.)
- Write articles and conduct interviews for the printed reports.
Key skills, knowledge, and qualities:
- English, German or French mother tongue, with excellent writing skills. Excellent command of a second of these languages. Knowledge of the third language an asset. Candidates able to translate from their mother tongue into another language will be preferred.
- Strong computer skills (knowledge in InDesign and Drupal: an asset);
- Familiar with social media;
- Some previous media experience an asset;
- intercultural awareness and strong social skills;
- Flexible – be able to adapt to new situations quickly;
- Ready to work on weekends;
- Detail-oriented and efficient;
- Self-starter, independent thinker, interested in the conference’s themes;
- Education: University graduate/student or equivalent, background in communications, social studies, international relations, media studies or similar are desired.
