Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
Main function: Provision of general and legal assistance to the Legal Affairs Unit. The Assistant delivers defined tasks or work packages within projects/assignments providing research, legal, administrative, filing and other types of support.
Starting date: As soon as possible
Duration: 1 year, with the possibility of extension
Working hours: Part-time (approx. 10 to 12 hours per week, to be agreed)
Location: TI-Secretariat, Berlin, Germany
Department: Legal Affairs Unit (LAU)
Reporting lines: Legal Counsel
Remuneration: Minijob (max. EUR 450 per month)
Responsibilities:
- Assistance in the daily work of the Legal Affairs Unit
- Carrying out background research on various legal topics
- Support in the organisation of legal trainings
- Support in managing the work of pro bono lawyers
- General support related to projects of the Legal Affairs Unit
Knowledge, experience and skills:
- Law degree required
- First work experience in a legal environment an asset
- Good legal research skills required
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) essential
- Additional languages, in particular German, a strong asset
- Strong organisational skills and ability to effectively manage priorities
- People and service orientation
- High intercultural awareness and sensitivity
- Good knowledge of MS Office
