A highly organised and experienced administrator is required to support the Global Governance Body Coordinator in the Governance Programme to deliver Amnesty International’s 2018 Global Assembly Meeting.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Global Assembly Assistant will support the work of the Global Governance Body Coordinator and assist with the coordination of translations, production, management and distribution of Global Assembly documentation. The Assistant will also arrange and coordinate Committee and other related meetings in advance of the Global Assembly Meeting, as well as provide other administrative support as needed to ensure the smooth delivery of the Global Assembly.
You will maintain detailed schedules, organise committee meetings, log actions, manage documents and coordinate translations and support various aspects of the Global Assembly work plan.
The Global Assembly Assistant post will be line-managed by the Global Governance Body Coordinator. A proactive, flexible approach to work is essential together with excellent organization, communication and report writing skills.
ABOUT YOU
Previous experience of organising and supporting small meetings (10 – 15 people, virtual and face to face) is essential, as is working to tight deadlines, multi-tasking and managing your own workload. Experience supporting committees and coordinating the production of complex documents, preferably for a non-governmental organisation, is highly desired..
The post holder should have a high level of written English. The ability to communicate in at least one other of the Amnesty International’s core languages (French and Spanish) is also highly desirable.
The Assistant will be required to travel and should be available to work abroad from approximately either 28 June – 1 July or 5-8 July 2018 (dates to be confirmed). The role will also include occasional weekend working, compensated by time off in lieu.
