ADMINISTRATOR – European Committee of the Regions (CoR)

This post requires a strong aptitude for managing web and digital projects in an independent and cooperative way. More specifically, the official will be required to manage the following areas of activity:
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the CoR’s new digital and social media strategies and campaigns;
• Develop and roll-out new projects, using a Project Cycle Management approach;
• Project management for the re-design of the CoR’s website and the design and creation of thematic/event micro-sites;
• Define key performance indicators and analyse the impact of communication actions across the CoR’s social media, email, publication and digital channels, propose innovative solutions and follow-up on the implementation;
• Engage with internal and external end-users in order to identify their needs, their preferences, possible limitations and communicate to them how we can support them;
• Advise content-providers on how to best tailor their message to the different type of digital media channels used by the CoR;
• Work closely with internal content providers to ensure respect of editorial guidelines;
• Contribute to identifying best practices in the area of digital and social media.
Qualifications and skills required:
Essential requirements for the job:
• Technical experience in web design;
• Experience in web design and usability, including accessibility;
• Capacity to stay at the forefront of new trends in the area of web design and communication;
• Experience in defining and using key performance indicators for digital communication; experience in web and social media statistics;
• Experience in introducing new communication concepts and ideas to an organisation;
• Experience in working with content management systems;
• A sound grasp of communication;
• Real motivation, sense of responsibility and capacity to work well under pressure;
• Excellent organisational skills, respect of deadlines, ability to set priorities, political awareness;
• Thorough knowledge of one official language of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the EU. For functional reasons, a very good knowledge of English or French is required. Knowledge of other official EU languages would be an asset;
• Good command of current IT applications and ability to learn to use other specific applications;
• Ability to work as part of a team (but also autonomously when required) and to adapt to an international working environment.
Experience/competences/abilities considered an asset:
• Experience with managing budgets and the EU Financial Rules;
• Knowledge of storytelling techniques;
• Experience in email communication;
• Experience in working on web-based publications;
• Editorial skills.
