The Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) announced the start of nomination for AGFUND International Prize for pioneering human development projects in the field of “Marketing of Homemade Products”. AGFUND invites the UN, International and regional organizations, ministries and public institutions, NGOs, universities and research centers and experts in the field all over the world to submit their nominations for the Prize, which is worth US $ 500,000 allocated for its four categories.
The “Marketing of Homemade Products” was selection as subject for AGFUND Prize with the aim of empowering the poor by increasing their income sources and improving their livelihoods.
The theme is subdivided to cover four categories of the Prize as follows:
- FIRST CATEGORY: (US$ 200,000)
The role of UN and international organizations in supporting the developing countries’ programs through marketing of homemade products (For projects implemented by UN, international or regional organizations).
- SECOND CATEGORY: (US$ 150,000)
The role of NGOs in marketing of homemade products (For projects implemented by national NGOs).
- THIRD CATEGORY: (US$ 100,000)
The role of governmental and public institutions in setting up policies and programs that are supportive to homemade products (For projects implemented by ministries and public institutions).
- FOURTH CATEGORY: (US$ 50,000)
Individual-led initiatives for empowerment of woman through marketing of homemade products (For projects initiated, sponsored and/or implemented by individuals).
The Deadline for receiving Nominations is May 31, 2014.
