The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is looking for an Assistant Secretary
Role
The Assistant Secretary is (a) a team member, contributing to ensuring that the Policy-Making Organs are supported in functioning well, and (b) an analyst seeing issues from a broad perspective taking into consideration the competing interests of Member States and focusing on details.
The Assistant Secretary regularly liaises with officers from all Departments and particularly with Language and Printing Services and Conference Services. The Assistant Secretary liaises at a senior level with Permanent Missions, Resident Representatives, Governors and Delegates, and exchanges information on matters relating to the Policy-Making Organs. He/she responds to queries, provides interpretation of rules and procedures, and obtains assistance from respective officers, as required, to clarify and promote the IAEA’s views on terms and issues before the Policy-Making Organs. The Assistant Secretary advocates standard modalities of the Policy-Making Organs and ensures that Member States are fully briefed on latest developments.
