The British Youth Council (BYC) is looking for four passionate advocates of young people to join the UK Young Ambassadors Team.
BYC are seeking nominations for three positions:
- 1 x European Youth Forum Representative
- 1 x Commonwealth Representative
- 2 x UK Young Ambassadors for Europe
You may only stand for one position, but which one is right for you?
Some of the important things to know about the different positions…
European Youth Forum Representative
- Male nominations only this year *
- 2 year term
- Focussed on representing BYC and UK young people at the European Youth Forum, developing and supporting European youth policy, and promoting European opportunities, campaigns and information
- Working with 1 other European Youth Forum representative who was elected last year
Commonwealth Representative
- Male nominations only this year *
- 2 year term
- Requires interest and experience in international development
- Focussed on representing BYC and UK young people at the Commonwealth Youth Council, developing and supporting Commonwealth youth policy, and promoting Commonwealth opportunities, campaigns and information
- Working with 1 other European Youth Forum representative who was elected last year
UK Young Ambassadors to Europe
- 2 positions open
- Open to BYC members only
- 18 month term
- Focussed on consultation and research with young people, leading the ‘Structured Dialogue’ process, and developing and running a campaign on youth empowerment
- Working as a team of 8 UK Young Ambassadors from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
*Last year the call was for female nominations.
