CEC ArtsLink promotes international communication and understanding through collaborative, innovative arts projects for mutual benefit.
They support and produce programs that encourage the exchange of visual and performing artists and cultural managers in the United States and 37 countries overseas.
ArtsLink Residencies offers artists and arts managers from eligible overseas countries a five-week residency at an established, non-profit arts organization in the US. The program is designed to create opportunities for artists and communities across the US to share artistic practices with artists and arts managers from abroad and engage in dialogue that advances understanding across cultures. Host organizations are selected based on an application process open to US non-profit organizations from all fifty US states. Applicants do not need to have contacts with organizations in the US to apply for this program.
For the 2015 Residencies program, fellows will be artists and arts managers working in performing arts and literature.
ArtsLink Residencies allows artists and arts managers from eligible countries to:
- Pursue artistic and/or professional collaborations that will enrich and enhance their work
- Share ideas and expertise with US artists and organizations, with residents of the broader host community, and with colleagues from the region who participate in the program
- Expand knowledge of arts practice and deepen understanding of cultural life in the US
- Create new work that draws inspiration from interaction with artists and arts professionals within the US host community
- Expand professional arts management skills through work with US organizations
The different components of ArtsLink Awards are funded by the individual supporters of CEC ArtsLink, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Trust for Mutual Understanding, The Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, the Ohio Arts Council, the Kettering Fund, Milton & Sally Avery Arts Foundation.
