Context:
IOM has signed a convention with the Government of Luxembourg to plan and organise the assisted voluntary return and reintegration project (AVRRL), aiming at the assistance to the voluntary return and reintegration assistance of asylum seekers and persons in irregular situation in need of assistance.
IOM is also supporting the Government of Luxembourg in their resettlement operations, by facilitating the selection missions taking place in Turkey and provide pre-departure and travel assistance to those refugees identified by the Government of Luxembourg to be resettled to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission of IOM Country Office for Belgium and Luxembourg and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the incumbent will provide technical and administrative support to:
– the assisted voluntary return and reintegration project from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
– he resettlement supported services provided by IOM to the Government of Luxembourg
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
In the frame of the AVRRL project:
Provide general counselling to potential candidates in Luxembourg on existing voluntary return projects and, when applicable, on available reintegration opportunities in the countries of origin of the candidates;
Assist IOM migrants with the check in at the airport of Luxembourg, at the border control, customs and security check and guide them to the boarding gate;
Pay reinstallation grants in the framework of the programme possibilities to migrants whenever necessary and as instructed;
Prepare and encode candidates’ files in the appropriate database;
Assist in providing information to IOM partners network in Luxembourg to promote the voluntary return;
Informing relevant services at IOM Headquarters and other IOM Missions on departures;
Assist in compiling invoices for payment by the Accounts Department ;
Assist in coordinating the re-integration assistance with IOM Missions in countries of origin;
Participate in the development of promotional/information materials on the return and reintegration activities to be disseminated amongst partners and potential beneficiaries.
In the frame of the resettlement project:
Assist in preparing the selection mission of the Luxembourg delegation in Turkey;
Contribute to the IOM feedback mechanism on selection missions by assisting in the draft of reports based on information received by IOM Turkey and the Government of Luxembourg;
Assist in compiling narrative and financial report of the project.
Any other task that may be required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
University degree Political or Social Science, International Relationsfrom an accredited academic institution, with one year of relevant professional experience; or
Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with two years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
Professional experience in refugee and migration related issues;
Good IT skills in relation to database management and Ms Office Package;
Good analytical skills for financial data, strong sense of details and accuracy;
Valid driving license.
Languages
Fluency in English and good knowledge of French is required. Knowledge of any other language (in particular Arabic; Serbo-Croatian) is an asset.

Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment and verification of residency, visa and authorizations by the concerned Government, where applicable.
Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighbouring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
