The Children’s Rights Policy Officer will be part of the Policy, Advocacy and Campaigns (PAC) Team in Plan’s International Headquarters and will play an active role in developing public policy analysis and positions in priority thematic areas of Plan’s advocacy and campaigning. The post-holder will have input to Plan’s advocacy documents tools and strategies, including submissions to human rights treaty monitoring bodies, thematic reports, written and oral statements, and other advocacy and communications materials.
The role has a global reach, with frequent contact and collaboration with Plan’s global and regional thematic advisers, with Plan’s National Organisations, Plan’s Country and Regional Offices, and Plan’s liaison offices in Geneva, New York and Brussels.The post-holder will have no line management responsibility except for possible supervision of interns and occasional management of consultants.
