The European Mortgage Federation (EMF) and the European Covered Bond Council (ECBC) are the voices of the mortgage credit and covered bond industries at European level, and the key industry stakeholders vis-à-vis the European Institutions on all issues relating to mortgage credit on the retail and funding sides of the business.
The EMF-ECBC is currently seeking a Communications Officer to join its Brussels-based Secretariat on a permanent contract basis.
Key responsibilities for this position will include organisation and implementation of the cross-cutting communication tasks of the EMF-ECBC: implementation of the communication strategy, management of communication tools, coordination of communication activities (events, website, multi-media).

Creative Projects:
- Manage the design, optimisation and content of the EMF-ECBC website, and associated on-line platforms.
- Handle the developments of all EMF-ECBC products (publications, presentations, videos, promotional material) and contribute to the editing, proofreading and design as necessary.
- Commission and manage contacts with suppliers (print and web design agencies, photographers, filmmakers).
- Develop the audio-visual library.
- Content Production, Coordination & Dissemination:
- Work with the Secretary General and policy advisers in the conception, design and dissemination strategy for all external communication.
- Work across the EMF-ECBC to coordinate and produce newsletters, events and outreach communications.
- Marketing & Promotion:
- Raise the profile of the organisation and ensure strong brand presence.
- Work closely with the policy team to deliver messages and identify new communication opportunities in the area of press and media.
- Support the marketing and outreach strategy to contribute to attracting new members and partners.
- Ensure promotion of the EMF-ECBC’s events and work with relevant stakeholders.
- Strategy & Management:
- Optimise content and use of the EMF-ECBC database.
- Manage the EMF-ECBC’s communication strategy across all channels, print and digital media.
- Monitor, analyse and report on the effectiveness of all communications activities and channels, and fine-tune the communications strategy accordingly.
- Manage the communications budget.
Your Profile:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in French and other EU languages is an asset.
- Flair for branding, marketing and design; attention to detail.
- Experience in communications, advocacy, campaigns and/or member services.
- Ability to take the initiative and develop projects and products.
- Knowledge of coding (HTML, CSS) and web-editing.
- Knowledge of Google Analytics and social media reporting tools.
- Knowledge of database development.
- Experience of content and data management systems.
- University education.
- At least three years’ relevant paid work experience.
- Experience of working on issues related to financial services, particularly related to mortgages and covered bonds.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and maintain a professional approach.
- A commitment to the values and goals of the European Union.
