UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The Consultant will work under the supervision of the UN Women Head of Private Sector Relations and in close cooperation with the Private Sector Team and the Resource Mobilization Team within the Strategic Partnerships, Advocacy, Civil Society, Communications and Resource Mobilization Division at UN Women HQ in New York. In accordance with the UN Women Resource Mobilization Partnership strategy, diverse fundraising techniques will be used during 2015 and beyond in order to recruit, retain and build a good relationship with prospective and existing donors with particular focus on new regular donors. A well developed Digital Fundraising Programme is part of this strategy.
The Digital Fundraising Consultant will work with an agreed work plan and regular sessions will be organized in order to review progress achieved against the agreed work plan formulated at the beginning of the assignment.
The Digital Fundraising Consultant will help develop UN Women digital fundraising strategy and its implementation to maximize donation leads and brand recognition. As an integral part of the Private Sector team, this position works closely with other team members.
The Digital Fundraising Consultant will be tasked with leading a broad set of initiatives across all digital fundraising tools and channels (including corporate websites, paid search, newsletters, and email marketing campaigns). The Digital Fundraising Consultant will develop the overall digital marketing strategy, ensure existing UN Women campaigns and events (HeforShe, Beijing +20, 16 Days of Activism), optimize their online fundraising potential, build brand recognition, and introduce new products to UN Women existing donors base.
The Digital Fundraising Consultant position requires experience in the technical and creative aspects of digital marketing, as well as strong copywriting skills. The ideal candidate will possess a strong balance of strategic thinking, outside-the-box creativity, and technical proficiency in a variety of digital marketing platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the head of the Private Sector, the Digital Fundraising Consultant will be responsible for the following:
- Support the development and implementation of a unique UN Women Digital Fundraising Strategy in close collaboration with the Head of Private Sector;
- Give technical support and strategic advice for the implementation of UN Women Digital Fundraising Strategy;
- Develop detailed digital fundraising analytics reports and benchmarks including competitor analysis;
- Proactively engage with relevant colleagues to develop a portfolio of digital partners and influencers, with the aim of increasing fundraising revenue;
- Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience;
- Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns (excluding acquisition), and assess against goals;
- Tracking conversion rates and making technical improvements to the website;
- Work collaboratively with Communication and Private Sector Team to brainstorm new and creative growth strategies;
- Plan, execute and measure digital conversion and upgrade tests;
- Evaluate donor research, market conditions, and competitor data and implement donor survey;
- Manage the digital technical components of integrated marketing campaigns;
- Set metrics, monitor and report on digital campaign performance metrics (sources, bounces, opens, clicks, conversions);
- Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners;
- Review new technologies and keep the organization at the forefront of developments in digital marketing;
- Give technical support and strategic advice for the implementation of mobile campaigns;
- Support all the IT functionalities and technical needs related to Digital activities;
- Assist in any other duties related to UN Women Private Sector Team activities.
