Climate-KIC is looking for a Digital Marketing Assistant (6 Months)
Role purpose
This is a great opportunity for a starting digital marketing star to gain experience at Climate-KIC headquarters in the City of London by supporting communications staff in three key areas:
- WordPress: You will upload and style content prepared by communications staff, upload changes to text on web pages as requested by communication staff, crop images in Photoshop, add embedded content such as YouTube videos and add SEO information to create maximum impact
- Social media: You will upload links to website content and social media messages created by communications staff to a wide range of channels such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn using a scheduling system, you will optimise scheduling for maximum impact
- Online advertising: You will upload, monitor and optimise advertisements created by communications staff into advertising networks such as Facebook, Google Adwords and LinkedIn
You will join the Marketing and Communications Unit. You will work very closely with the New Media Manager, Communications Officer and Head of Communications in London headquarters, as well as other members of the unit in France and the Netherlands. Additionally, you will support – focusing on WordPress – communications staff in other departments of the organisation based in countries around Europe.
Profile and experience
You have either just finished your education in digital marketing or have acquired equivalent experience by working in the industry.
You will be an excellent team worker with the communications confidence (both on the phone and online) to support staff of different nationalities and digital-skills levels across Europe.
You have an excellent command of English, orally and in writing. You will have excellent skills in WordPress and have basic Photoshop skills (e.g. cropping images) as well as a basic understanding and ability to use HTML.
You will have an excellent understanding of all the main social media channels and how to schedule content for maximum impact, based on analytics. You should have excellent marketing skills and have the ability to implement an online marketing campaign across multiple channels and use analytics to optimise for impact.
You are a dynamic and creative individual and are able to work to set deadlines. You will either be a citizen of the European Union or be able to produce the visa documentation to prove you have the right to work in the European Union.
This is a fixed-term or contract position – open from 1 August – 31 December 2015. The salary will be based on experience, £20,000 – 25,000 per annum, pro rata.
Location: The post-holder will be based at the Climate-KIC European Headquarters in the City of London.
