The Delegation of the European Union to Myanmar is inviting candidates to submit applications for the following post of:
DRIVER (2 positions)
JOB CONTENT
• Transport of persons and/or goods
• Provide secure and timely driving services to transport passengers and/or goods
• Collect and/or deliver office documents (notes to Embassies and Authorities, flight tickets, bank correspondence etc.)
• Facilitate airport pick-ups for VIP visitors and transportation during official visits.
• Service vehicle maintenance management
• Ensure sound running and arrange maintenance and repairs when necessary
• Check oil and tyres properly and keep the service vehicles in clean condition, both inside and outside
• Determine when and what kind of maintenance the vehicle requires, keep track of maintenance schedules
• Keep track of timely car insurance renewals
• Maintain usage log book including daily mileage recording
• General Office Assistance
• When not driving assist the office with occasional handyman jobs and repairs
• Act as a back-up for reception by answering calls and registering visitors
• Support Administration section with other task as required (information gathering, inventories etc.)
EXPERIENCE
• Preferably at least five years of work experience in a similar position
• Previous experience in an international organisation or a diplomatic mission would be an asset.
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual cars.
SKILLS
• Excellent command of Myanmar language, both written and spoken
• Very good command of English, both written and spoken
• Excellent driving skills and in possession of a valid driving license
• Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance requirements
• Good knowledge of the city including locations of other Embassies, Ministries and International Organisations
• Service-oriented and flexibility on schedules. Capacity to work in a multicultural team, showing good interpersonal skills
• Good level of computer literacy is an asset (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet
• High degree of confidentiality, discretion, loyalty and responsibility.
