The Opportunity
Working on one of Plan International’s most visible and successful campaigns, Because I Am A Girl, you will look to influence policy and legislatives changes at both regional and international levels to bring improvements to the lives of girls around the world by driving forward the advocacy component of the campaign. This is a great opportunity to work on an incredibly successful campaign that has made a real difference to lives.
Plan’s global flagship campaign Because I am a Girl encompasses programming, policy/advocacy, marketing, communications and fund-raising. The purpose of this role is to lead the Because I am a Girl (BIAAG) global advocacy. This will include:

Managing the development and implementation of the BIAAG advocacy plan

Developing and maintaining external advocacy partnerships and coalitions in order to successfully deliver across BIAAG advocacy goals

Shaping the broader BIAAG campaign strategy in partnership with the BIAAG campaign group and the communications department

Working across Plan International to maintain coordinated BIAAG advocacy throughout all of Plan’s offices
The BIAAG campaign is due to run until at least June 2017.
The Requirements
You will come from an advocacy and policy background, with proven experience of working with policymakers at an international level and a strong understanding of the global education community, institutions and processes. You will have extensive knowledge of the UN post-2015 sustainable development process and a solid understanding of how to influence this over the next sixteen months. You will have excellent analytical skills, creative problem solving skills and the ability to communicate concepts clearly and confidently.

Salary: £35-45000 per annum
