BEUC, the Consumer Organisation, is currently looking for a
HEALTH POLICY OFFICER
BEUC has a membership of 41 well respected, independent national consumer organizations from 31 European countries. BEUC acts as the umbrella group in Brussels for these organisations and our main task is to represent our members and defend the interests of all Europe’s consumers.
With at least 3 years of experience in a similar position, you will report to the Head of Food and Health. The tasks of the position will include:
- Providing BEUC and its members information and advice on access to medicines policies;
- Drafting position papers and technical briefing documents on access to medicines in Europe;
- Collaborating with national consumers’ organisations and health NGOs;
- Represent BEUC in working groups, networks and conferences in the area of pharmaceuticals;
- Developing contacts with EU officials, MEPs and other relevant stakeholders.
The main qualifications they are looking for are:
- A technical background/degree relevant to health, economics or law;
- A good understanding of pharmaceuticals issues, including R&D, pricing and reimbursement and Health Technology Assessment;
- A commitment to advocate for the right of consumers to access safe, innovative and affordable medicines;
- A least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of pharmaceuticals;
- The ability to work well with people from different backgrounds;
- The ability to write and communicate very well in English. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
