The Juncker Plan launched in 2015 aims to stimulate the economy through investment in strategic projects around Europe based on an important leverage effect. This should unlock additional investment of EUR 315bn over the next three years.
The European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) has been created and integrated into the European Investment Bank (EIB). It will include projects with a higher risk profile than ordinary EIB activities. It will focus on the following sectors:
• Strategic infrastructure including digital, transport and energy
• Education, research, development and innovation
• Expansion of renewable energy and resource efficiency
• Support for smaller businesses and midcap companies
How can the enterprises benefit from this fund? What is the procedure to introduce a project? What is the role of the financial intermediaries? What are the potential opportunities for public-private projects in the Brussels Region?
These questions will be covered during the seminar.
