2. SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:1. INTERNSHIP TOPIC: “Support ADB Procurement Reforms initiative and implementation of new procurement framework.”
- Conduct research on global trends in public procurement that can facilitate greater procurement efficiency, help improve quality and enhance value for money.
- Review various emerging international good practices in developing public procurement regulations, use of new procurement methods and modalities, monitoring and oversight, risk management, use of information technology and other innovations.
- Suggest a risk management plan to ensure mitigation of fiduciary risks when implementing the principle based procurement regimes.
- Assist in any research for other activities that may be relevant for ADB developing member countries in implementation of actions proposed under the new procurement framework.
3. PERIOD OF ASSIGNMENT:
- Duration: 26 weeks
- Timing: June 2018
NOTE:
ADB provides a stipend of 69 USD per day for a maximum of 56 calendar days only. Interns may choose to continue work beyond 56 calendar days in agreement with the designated supervisors, but without stipend.

5. EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
- Research reports on global trends and emerging best practices in public procurement to help facilitate greater procurement efficiency, help improve quality and enhance value for money under ADB projects.
- Improved risk management for fiduciary risk mitigation under new ADB procurement framework.
Qualifications
6. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
MBA student or equivalent with a good understanding of public procurement and public supply chain management.
7. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Work experience with another development bank and/or in procurement and supply chain management area.
