Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
Main function: Assisting the Asia Pacific Department with implementing the Regional Program
Starting date: As soon as possible
Duration: Depending on type of internship (see below): min. 3 months, preferably 6 months or more
Department: Asia Pacific Department (APD)
Remuneration: EUR 450 per month
Location: Berlin, Germany
Key tasks:
- Performing research and analysis of corruption issues in Asia Pacific
- Supporting the Regional Coordinators in reviewing issues of corruption as they occur at the national level
- Assisting the Regional Outreach Manager in media and advocacy across the Asia Pacific Region
- Support the Asia Pacific Department with implementing the Regional Program
- Support in increasing the visibility of APD and the Regional Program through online mediums including website, social media and other platforms
- Providing administrative support where necessary including preparing business trips, scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, preparing memos and other related administrative work
- opportunity to pursue an individual project related to anti-corruption work as agreed with supervisor
Knowledge, experience and skills:
- Enrolled student in political science, economics or international relations (or other relevant field)
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of the Asia Pacific Region
- Strong communication and organisational skills and keen interest in advocacy and media work
- Experience in office work and providing administrative support
- Excellent English language skills (spoken and written) is a key requirement; knowledge of at least one Asian language is considered a merit
- Strong research, writing and analytical skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and team spirit with the ability to work effectively in an international work environment
- Adaptable and flexible personality, able to handle multiple tasks and workloads, ability to prioritise own work
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledge of web design or experience in designing online visibility is considered a merit
