New internship opening at EUNIC Global: Administration and Communications Assistant based in Brussels
The EUNIC Global Office in Brussels is recruiting an Administration and Communications Assistant for a six-month period (starting 23 February 2015).
EUNIC is the network of the European national institutes for culture. Formed in 2006, EUNIC is a recognised leader in cultural cooperation. EUNIC has 33 members from 27 EU member states that are based in over 150 countries with more than 2,000 branches and thousands of local partners. The members work in the arts, language, youth, education, science, intercultural dialogue and development sectors. The EUNIC Global Office in Brussels coordinates the work of over 90 EUNIC clusters around the world.
Administration and Communications Assistant
Tasks and responsibilities
– Support in office management and general office administration
– Help organise meetings and events
– Support the office in the administration of finances and bookkeeping
– Maintenance of EUNIC website, intranet and social media
– Newsletter co-development
– Other
Essential requirements:
– Advanced studies or University degree in Communications, European Studies, International Relations or similar
– Keen interest in Intercultural Dialogue, Multilingualism and its role in the European and national context
– Basic knowledge and understanding of EU cultural policies and how the EU works
– English native speaker level, working knowledge of French, any additional languages are a plus
– Knowledge of and interest in Social Media and Social Media Marketing (Facebook and Twitter)
– Preferably previous experience with website management and maintenance
– Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (including Excel), familiarity with Mac OS is a plus
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Able to work independently and as part of a team
– Able to multitask and prioritise own work, attention to detail in order to ensure outstanding quality and consistency
Traineeship and application timeframe:
The traineeship will be for a period of 6 months, starting 23 February 2015
The deadline for application is 5 February 2015, at midnight (12 am UTC+1).
Interviews will take place 10-12 February 2015.
The successful candidate will be announced on 13 February 2015.
Remuneration:
The traineeship is remunerated under Belgian law by a ‘Contrat d’immersion professionelle’. It is mandatory for the trainee to hold advanced studies/ university degree (e.g. Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or equivalent). The trainee must have the right to legally work in the EU.
