Duties and Responsibilities
Six years since its inception, Nexus has had great success in providing carbon credits from their members’ high quality projects to organizations looking to offset their carbon footprints.
The Partnerships Manager will be key in continuing to develop, manage, and maximize the potential of these partnerships and commercial relationships by:
- Identifying organizations for offset purchases (mainly private companies) and building successful commercial relations;
- Identifying and delivering corporate responsibility and shared value collaboration opportunities with private sector companies;
- Developing proposals and managing negotiations on carbon offset sales (including responding to requests for proposals and tender opportunities);
- Ensuring that after-sale deliverables are completed and that client satisfaction levels are consistently high;
- Providing training for individual businesses or networks on an ad hoc basis.
This role is best suited to an individual who is passionate about climate-friendly development, understands the current trends in Corporate Responsibility, Environmental Sustainability and shared value and is strong in relationship building and management. This role will be building and maintaining relationships both with European and Asian clients.
Key responsibilities
1. Manage and secure carbon finance deals
Generate new leads and oversee current partnerships with private sector companies;
Supports the development and implementation of successful sales strategies;
Source, negotiate, contract and close deals with corporates and carbon offset retailers;
Ensure client satisfaction and that after-sales service is delivered.
2. Deliver on Commercial Strategy
Work directly with the Director to create and adapt private sector engagement strategies;
Develop new tools and services that are revenue-generating;
Coordinate carbon footprinting services: calculation, reporting and recommendations.
3. Liaise with Nexus’ members on private sector financing and partnerships
Manage relationships with Nexus’ members, building capacity and providing briefings as required – e.g. on carbon markets or other corporate partnership opportunities;
Provide assistance to members on managing carbon registries for carbon credits.

APPLICANT PROFILE
Experience
- Minimum 2/3 years professional experience in business development and sales;
- Experience in corporate responsibility, environmental sustainability and/or shared value;
- Knowledge of and experience in climate/carbon finance and/or climate change.
- Education
- Degree in Business Administration, or related field;
- MBA or other relevant Master’s degree a plus.
Skills
- Proficient English speaker with excellent writing skills; French, German or other languages a plus;
- Excellent storyteller, networker and negotiator with different levels of stakeholders;
- Confident communicator, pro-active and independent in establishing relationships;
- Be able to work independently and contribute as a team player;
- Knowledge of carbon markets and/or climate finance.
Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia; possibility to relocate to Singapore or consider partial remote working arrangements; some travel required.
