Picture Dignity is a global photography contest run by TORONTO+Acumen, aimed at inspiring the global community to define, illustrate, and show us what dignity means to them.
What is Picture Dignity?
Picture Dignity is a global photography contest aimed at inspiring the global community to define, illustrate, and show us what dignity means to them. Photographers of all strains – the eminent and the undiscovered – are invited to showcase their work on a platform of international proportions.
Just as dignity courses through you and your work, it pervades the world around you. In the exotic, and in the everyday, and in infinitely many ways. This is one of Acumen’s core beliefs and this year, the +Acumen network is bringing it to life through the global Picture Dignity contest.
We want to see it through your eyes; your lens. We’re counting on you to make Picture Dignity a success by submitting a photo of what dignity means to you, and joining and sharing us on Facebook. Your submission will support the +Acumen network initiatives and Acumen’s novel approach to tackling poverty.
Top photographs from the Picture Dignity contest will be auctioned off at TORONTO+Acumen’s annual Dignity in Focus event, which raises money for Acumen’s global initiatives and social entrepreneurship programs in Toronto. Watch the video below to learn more.
The Top 35 photographs selected by our judges will gain international exposure through the +Acumen network. Proceeds from the auction of these photographs will support +Acumen initiatives which contribute to the success of social entrepreneurs in developing countries including East Africa, West Africa, Pakistan and India.
Submissions will be accepted to September 5th 2014 11:59 PM EST. Entrants can submit up to 5 unique entries, and judges will select the top 35 photographs and 1 winning photograph from all photographs submitted. Picture Dignity is a global contest, so they accept submissions from anywhere in the world.
