Organizational Setting
The Department of Technical Cooperation (TC) consists of the Office of the Deputy Director General, four regional Divisions (Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Latin America), the Division of Programme Support and Coordination (TCPC) and the Division of the Programme of Action for Cancer Therapy (PACT). It provides strategic direction for the IAEA’s technical cooperation programme, and is responsible (in close collaboration with Member States) for the planning, formulation, implementation and monitoring of the programme, in line with the IAEA Medium Term Strategy.
Main purpose
Reporting to the Deputy Director General, the Programme Coordinator organizes the planning, monitoring and performance reporting for Major Programme 6 – Management of Technical Cooperation for Development (MP6). He/she provides analysis and research on feedback received from stakeholders, in particular governing bodies.
Role
The Programme Coordinator is: (a) an analyst, reviewing and analysing complex information from a broad range of sources, (b) a policy developer, leveraging this analysis into concrete proposals for improving the performance of MP6 and (c) a plannerensuring consistency and harmonization of programmatic inputs at departmental and interdepartmental level.
