The European University Association (EUA) is looking for a
PUBLICATIONS OFFICER/WEBMASTER (full-time/ temporary position to cover a maternity leave)
EUA is seeking a highly motivated communications professional to join the Communications, Marketing and Events team. This temporary position results from the absence of a member of the unit on maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities
Publications
- Producing of EUA publications (all coordination with external design and printing agencies)
- Online creation of and dissemination of the EUA newsletter
- Creation and dissemination of the internal weekly e-newsletter
- Quality control and final proofreading of all published documents
Webmaster
- Technical updating of the content and structure of the EUA website
- Ensuring the daily management of the website
- Drafting news for the member and partner section of the website and newsletter
- Development and feeding content for the EUA extranet
Social Media
- Managing social media activities
Background and qualifications
- At least two years’ experience in communications or publications/design issues, preferably in higher education or research
- Near native proficiency in English (preferably a native speaker), knowledge of French and/or other European languages an asset
- Strong IT skills:
– Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
– Basic skills in Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Professional or other editing/layout software
– Experience with CMS systems
– Basic html/.net understanding
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently against tight deadlines in an international environment
- Excellent social and interpersonal skills, conscientious team-player able to work autonomously on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Interest in European Higher Education and research
The position is available as of mid-February 2016. The Association offers a contract of limited duration (until mid-September 2016) under Belgian law, and an attractive package of benefits including lunch vouchers and a pension scheme.
