Regulation 45/2001 applies to the processing of personal data carried out by the European Parliament.
The European Parliament is seeking to recruit contract agents with a disability Employment and inclusion of persons with a disability is a priority of the European Parliament’s staff policy. Owing to the difficulties which persons with a disability often encounter in finding employment, the European Parliament has decided to launch a positive action scheme to enable them to gain work experience in an institution of the European Union. The European Parliament will offer one-year contracts to persons with a disability who are on a CAST list 1 and have not yet worked for an institution or a body of the European Union. Persons who have already had a contract 2 with an institution or a body of the European Union are not eligible. For the purposes of this programme, the following definition of a disability shall apply: “Persons with a disability include those who have a long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairment, which, in interaction with various barriers, may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.” If you are interested in this programme and you are on a CAST list for function group II, III or IV, please send an email before 30 April 2015 to PositiveAction@ep.europa.eu giving your CAST list reference and stating that you have a disability. Please attach an up-to-date CV, in the Europass 3 format. You are not required to provide proof of your disability in your application. If the European Parliament is interested in your profile, then you will be asked to do so at a later stage (medical certificate or national disability card). As a pre-condition of your employment, the European Parliament’s Medical Service will assess whether you have a disability which meets the definition given above and are, therefore, eligible for the scheme.
The European Parliament is committed to meeting your reasonable accommodation needs on its premises during the selection process and during your period of employment, provided that they do not impose an undue burden on the Institution.
