Traineeship – Safety Intelligence and Performance Department – EASA

The European Aviation Safety Agency offers paid traineeships for periods of up to six months. Their traineeship programme presents an opportunity to receive work experience in a distinctly multinational and intellectually stimulating environment, while contributing to the Agency’s mission of promoting the highest common standards of safety and environmental protection in civil aviation in Europe and worldwide.

The European Aviation Safety Agency offers a traineeship in the Strategy and Safety Management Directorate – Safety Intelligence and Performance Department.

The Strategy and Safety Management Directorate includes essential functions to strengthen the Agency’s strategy, consolidate its existing safety risk management capability, foster international cooperation and promote a performance based approach to managing safety.

The Safety Intelligence and Performance Department is responsible for:

a) Safety Analysis and Safety Performance Measurement

b) Safety investigation and Accident follow-up

c) Occurrence reporting

d) Safety foresight and research activities

Your tasks

Under the direct supervision of the traineeship advisor the selected candidate will:

• In the domain of Safety Analysis:

1) Contribute to the safety analysis of several Safety Issues that are managed by the Agency within its strategic Safety Risk Portfolio

2) Contribute to the development of the safety analysis/safety risk management methodological framework;

• In the domain of Occurrence Reporting: Contribute to the development of a System of Trend Monitoring: identification of items to be monitored, definition and calculation of the required corresponding indicators.

Monthly maintenance grant for graduate trainees: 1.096,10 €

Monthly maintenance grant for undergraduate trainees: 876,88 €

EASA is offering to trainees the JobTicket, which allows the holder to use public transportation within the Cologne/Bonn area.

In addition EASA pays at the end of the traineeship a travel allowance for the travel from your place of residence to Cologne and back.

The traineeship takes place at our headquarters in Cologne, Germany.
