The volunteers may be the greatest heroes of the Youth Olympic Games. A total of 2500 volunteers will make Lillehammer 2016 possible. They will create unique experiences for 1100 athletes from 70 nations.
Our volunteers will be part of a unique and awesome community before, during, and after the games. Volunteering for Lillehammer 2016 Youth Olympic Games will be an opportunity for learning, acquiring new skills, lifelong relations and work experience. We will need a lot of volunteers. Most of them will come from our host region, but we welcome International volunteers to contribute with their skills, determination and enthusiasm. Unfortunately, we are not able to cover expenses for travel and accommodation, but once you’re here, you will get the meals you need while you work, and the gear and outfit you’ll use. Volunteering won’t be a holiday, but we hope that these days of effort will give you memorable experiences for life!
The opening ceremony will be held 12th of February 2016, however, the first step on your Youth Olympic journey starts now with your application. The timeline outlines the process to follow. When you recieve a job offer from us you get access to the Volunteers Portal. The portal will provide most of the information you’ll need towards the games, but keep up to date also through our website and through social media. You have the chance to be a part of our team.
